When providing a service of engineering design we use these concepts as design tools to ensure that we provide best practice to achieve a design to minimise cost of ownership and provide efficient safe control of the product.

Another benefit of using these design tools is the project team and the operator all come to fully understand the system design and the reasons behind decisions made during the engineering design. The involvement of the operator in these design tool applications should be considered as the first step in operator training for the new systems being designed or old ones being modified.
